Good note on the book, I can vaguely recall mention of Peacock in one or more of those bulky histories of the war in the CBI but not much detail. Curiously, our now ongoing Smithsonian Folklife Festival includes a group of Karen women demonstrating their weaving. And on a completely irrelevant note, I’m keeping my eye out for a vest like that!
I also think Colonel David Smiley should be remembered. He had an outstanding WW2 career with the Household Cavalry and Commandos before joining SOE and working with Titos partisans in Albania, then at the end of the war in Europe in north east Thailand. I had the privilege of having lunch with him at an Anglo Thai Society event.

Ha! Its from Fabindia in Delhi. I bought a few in 2019 and even though I go back twice a year haven't found anything like this in their shops!
