My dad Geoff served with the 14th Army from mid 1944 to demob in 1947. Picked up a couple of tropical diseases that plagued him all his life but he survived without getting shot or blown up

Robert, an aside I appreciate it 14th Army big moment. Is it your intention during the year to cover the famous Gestapo hunting raid Operation Carthage, which consisted of RAF de Havilland Mosquito F.B.VI fighter-bombers of No. 140 Wing RAF (comprising No. 21 Squadron RAF, No. 464 Squadron RAAF, and No. 487 Squadron RNZAF). They flew with two reconnaissance Mosquito B.IVs from the Royal Air Force Film Production Unit to record the results of the attack. Thirty RAF Mustang fighters gave air cover from German aircraft. They clearly were not mucking around.

Good read that, chap, enjoyed it. Thank you Rob. Will there be anything written on the Battle of Hill 170 Kangaw (apologies if you already have), where my grandfather was with No.1 Army Commando (part of 3 Cdo Bde), with assistance given from COPP, plus Indian & West African units, too.. Don't know if there was any SOE or local help given, but they duly done their service, wherever they ended up. Looking forward to all those books mentioned, esp Lucy's, as we have a shared family link to that bloody hill!
