An Arthurian Odyssey

141 minutes of guidl fun by the Wandering Winds

Most of you will know that I’m a co-founder of the magical audio guide app ‘guidl’. The idea is that through it creators - historians, guides, gifted amateurs - can upload any number of short (no more than 10-minute) snippets about places that are important to them, showing off their brilliance and giving places a voice. These can then be listened to by the grateful public, for the cost of a cup of coffee and a bun. Strung together these snippets are a ‘guidl tour’. We’ve started calling it ‘podcasts about places.’

There are now over 250 fantastic ‘creators’ - some famous and others (like me) not so much - who have uploaded tours on the site, for your delectation. You can buy tours to listen to on site, or in the comfort of your home.

The ‘Wandering Winds’, remarkable musical duo Katy and Miles have produced a fabulous, 141-minute tour of North Wales in an Arthurian Odyssey. It has 24 guidls in total. The brilliance of the app is that you can listen to then singly or in any sequence you like, as you travel the region, physically on a tour, or from the comfort of your home. Katy and Miles have also produced musical guidls to Venice, Milan, Bologna and Liverpool. All are utterly fabulous: I heartily commend them to you.

We’d love you to enjoy guild and join the increasing number of friends who download and enjoy the historical tours on the platform. If you are an historian or guide, or simply know something about a place that you think deserves more public recognition, join the fun by getting in touch with me. We’ll send you simple instructions and a password, and you too can quickly become a guidl creator.
