I am very pleased to say that Hannah Watson’s ‘The Jungle War’ has been published!
It is exclusively published through Amazon by the Gurkha Museum, generously supported by Sampan Travel and with the publishing assistance and expertise of
. Its got a lovely foreword by Gurkha legend Hari Budha Magar.‘The Jungle War’ is a brilliant evocation of war in Burma in 1942 and 1943 as seen through the eyes of a young officer in the Gurkha Rifles, Lieutenant Jim Chance. It’s a fictionalised account for young readers, but I’ve read it and think it’s absolutely BRILLIANT. Please buy lots of copies! Any profits will be shared between the Gurkha Welfare Trust and the Kohima Educational Trust.
There’ll be a formal launch of the book at the the National Army Museum on 20 April 2024 but you’ll want to put large orders in for the book now.
With any luck Hannah will now start working on Volume II, Jim Chance’s adventures at Kohima and Imphal in 1944…
