For those following this little journey along with the ‘Little Chindits’ of Operation Thursday, herewith is Chapter 5, along with its spectacular drawings, which introduces the reader to the subject of air support.
Operation Thursday boasted its own air force under Colonel Philip Cochrane, comprising some 300 machines. It was an essential part of the whole business of getting 20,000 men into the field along the Railway Corridor, and sustaining them thereafter.
