I’ll be spending time in the first week of February tramping across north-east India with friends, with administration and logistics admirably sorted by my friends at Sampan Travel.
Then, for two weeks from 22 February, I’ll be back in Yangon for my first visit since Covid. I’m also being accompanied by some friends, and there is space for someone else to join if you wish. I’ll be back looking at what Kimura called the ‘Battle of the Irrawaddy Shore’, including Mandalay, the crossings at Nyangu and the Meiktila battlefield, as well as the extraordinary operations by 14,000 SOE-led Karens in the Karen Hills around Toungoo.
If you have time in your diary contact Bertie Lawson in Yangon today to join the trip. It’ll be a blast, in a good way…
I'm in Kolkata 18-20 February if you want to meet up.
Sounds great 👍!! Best of luck from the " Wild West"!!
